Support the workshop — a new way to back what we do (and 30% for education)
expanseElectronics is a small UK workshop. We make compact, affordable theatre gear because we think technicians shouldn't have to choose between kit that works and kit they can afford. A few of you have asked, more than once, whether there's a way to back what we do — so we built one.
Support the workshop
Head to the support page and you can chip in £5/month. It's genuinely a case of getting more back than you put in. While you're a supporter you get:
- 5% off every order, applied automatically at checkout — no code to remember.
- £1.50 of store credit every month, which builds up and comes off your next order automatically.
- A 20% off code after 3 months.
- A free t-shirt after 6 months (you just cover postage).
That's it — no tiers to compare, no upsells. It goes straight back into tools, parts, and prototypes for the next product.
Prefer a one-off?
Not everyone wants a subscription, and that's fine. There's also a one-off "buy us a soldering iron" option on the same page if you'd rather just say thanks once.
Easy to manage
Everything lives in your account under the Support tab — see your store-credit balance, swap the card you pay with, or cancel any time. If you cancel, you keep your perks until the end of the month you've already paid for, and any store credit you've already earned stays yours to spend.
30% off for education
While we were at it, we firmed up our educational discount: 30% off for schools, colleges, universities, students, and teaching staff. Theatre programmes run on tight budgets, and the people training the next generation of stage technicians shouldn't be the ones priced out.
If that's you, fill in the short form from your institutional email and we'll send you a code — usually within a working day.
Thank you
Whether you support us, grab the education discount, or just buy a node when you need one — thank you. Every order and every contribution keeps the soldering iron warm. As always, if you've got questions or ideas, drop us a line.
