pixAdapter
Pixel receiver for the dualETH: turns the long-run RS-485 pixel signal on its XLR back into WS2812 data at the strip, in a Neutrik XLR housing.
The dualETH sends pixel data out of its XLR ports as RS-485, the same balanced signal DMX uses, so it travels a long way down ordinary DMX cable. WS2812 pixels can't read RS-485 directly, so the pixAdapter sits at the strip end and converts it back to the 5 V data the pixels expect.
Plug it into the end of your DMX cable, wire your pixel power supply and strip into the 5-pin screw terminal, and you're done. Strip power passes straight through, protected by a 5 A fuse. A power LED shows the adapter is alive, and a data LED lights when pixel data is arriving, so you can tell at a glance whether a problem is in the cable, the power or the strip.
Made to order. Each pixAdapter is assembled and tested when you order it and ships within 2–4 weeks; we'll email tracking the moment it leaves the workshop.
- Input: male XLR, 5-pin (to match a standard dualETH) or 3-pin; RS-485 pixel data from a dualETH port in WS2812 mode on pins 1–3 (1 GND, 2 data −, 3 data +)
- Output: 5 V WS2812-timing data for WS2812, WS2813 and SK6812 strips and strings
- 5-pin 3.81 mm pluggable screw terminal: PSU +V / GND, strip +V / DATA / GND (plug included)
- Pixel supplies from 5 V to 24 V; strip power passes through a 5 A slow-blow fuse
- PWR and DATA status LEDs on the end plate
- Line termination built in, ESD and surge protection, reverse-polarity protection for the adapter
- Neutrik NA-HOUSING XLR shell; designed and assembled in the UK
